The Highball 3 2020 is the Santa Cruz flagship carbon hardtail race thoroughbred, and a dark horse in XC versatility. The Highball 3 2020 is more capable than a pure endurance bike and more composed than most XC race-rigs. The Highball has evolved to be easier to ride harder for longer. With a fine-tuned carbon layup process and low-angle, bridgeless seat stays join the seat tube below the top tube junction, to curb trail chatter. The bike is built around a 27.2mm diameter seat post, and the whole package combines to take the ‘hard’ out of hardtail riding. It has the mindset of a race bike but it’s prepared for more. Plus, with capacity for three bottle cages and the ever-reliable threaded BB, it’s the kind of bike that’ll go far.
