Giant have taken their world-renowned composite carbon technology and blended it with SRAM’s cutting edge wireless RED eTap AXS. The world or road riding is constantly evolving, and Giant have harnessed this and made themselves the pioneers. The Propel’s integrated aerodynamics make it the choice of some of the fastest sprinters in the pro peloton. The carbon frame utilises Giant’s Aerosystem shaping technology which means every tube shape and angle is designed to minimise drag. The resulting ‘truncated ellipse’ shape of the tubes also have the effect of creating an incredibly stiff frame, meaning your energy is efficiently converted into forward momentum. SRAM RED eTap AXS ‘Game changing’ is a hyperbolic term thrown around on a whim, but with the SRAM RED eTap AXS the hype might just be justified. 12 Speed drivetrains are not uncommon nowadays, with Campagnolo being first to that party. However, that 12th gear is important. Utilising the XD driver that was developed for SRAM’s 1x off-road groupsets, the RED eTap uses the on-road XDR driver which allows for a smaller 10 tooth sprocket. This results in larger gear ranges and harder, easier gears at both ends of the spectrum. There is also more single tooth jumps between gears, making for buttery smooth shifting. Because of the extra sprocket, SRAM had to redesign the chain completely, and the result was a change in shape. Constructed of harder and stronger ‘hard chrome’, it epitomises SRAM’s commitment to innovation. Completely wireless, simple shifting is achieved via two paddle operation, and shifting is twice as quick as its predecessor. Throw in some RED eTap hydraulic disc brakes and its clear that this groupset was made for superbikes. Put yourself at the cutting edge…
